Product Description

Sterile square media bottles manufactured from high-quality materials using precision molds and automated equipment, ensuring exceptional transparency and durability across all size formats. Designed for the long-term storage of aqueous solutions including serum, cell culture media, pancreatic enzymes, reagents, and other biological and chemical substances.

The square footprint maximizes shelf and cold storage space efficiency — fitting more bottles per unit area than round equivalents while maintaining a stable, non-rolling base for bench and refrigerator use. Each bottle features a leak-proof screw cap and clear graduation markings for accurate volume measurement. Available in 30, 60, 125, 250, 500, and 1000 mL volumes.

Available in two material options to match your temperature and application requirements:

PET
PET
❄ Rated to -40°C
Exceptional clarity and chemical resistance for standard cold storage and refrigeration applications. Ideal for serum, media, and reagent storage at refrigerator and standard freezer temperatures.
PETG
PETG
❄ Rated to -70°C
Enhanced low-temperature performance for ultra-low freezer storage. Maintains structural integrity and clarity at -70°C — ideal for long-term storage of temperature-sensitive biological materials.
Key Features & Benefits
  • Six volume formats — 30, 60, 125, 250, 500, and 1000 mL to match storage and handling needs across a wide range of laboratory workflows
  • Square footprint design — maximizes shelf, refrigerator, and freezer space efficiency — more bottles per unit area than round equivalents, stable non-rolling base
  • Exceptional transparency — manufactured using precision molds and automated equipment for consistent, distortion-free visibility of contents
  • Leak-proof screw cap — natural clear cap provides a reliable, secure seal for long-term storage and transport
  • Graduation markings — clear accurate markings for volume measurement without additional measuring equipment
  • PET material option — exceptional clarity and chemical resistance, rated to -40°C for standard cold and freezer storage
  • PETG material option — enhanced low-temperature performance rated to -70°C for ultra-low freezer and long-term cryogenic storage applications
  • Precision mold manufacturing — consistent wall thickness and dimensional accuracy across all units and lots
  • Sterile — gamma irradiated, dose verification per ISO 11137, SAL 10⁻⁶
  • DNase/RNase, Human DNA, ATP, and Pyrogen-free — certified for sensitive biological storage applications
⚠️ Not autoclavable — PET and PETG materials are not heat-resistant. Do not attempt to autoclave or heat-sterilize these bottles. Bottles are pre-sterilized by gamma irradiation at the factory.

Storage & Handling
  • Store in original packaging in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and UV exposure
  • Maintain storage temperature between 15°C and 30°C (59°F – 86°F) prior to filling
  • PET bottles — suitable for storage at temperatures down to -40°C after filling
  • PETG bottles — suitable for storage at temperatures down to -70°C after filling
  • Ensure screw cap is fully tightened before placing in cold or freezer storage
  • Allow frozen bottles to thaw gradually at refrigerator temperature before opening to prevent pressure build-up
  • Do not use bottles from damaged or previously opened packaging
  • Handle with gloves using standard aseptic technique when filling in sterile conditions
  • Do not fill above the maximum graduation marking — leave appropriate headspace for freezer storage
  • Label bottles clearly with contents, concentration, date, and storage conditions
⚠️ Not autoclavable — do not heat-sterilize PET or PETG bottles. These materials will deform under autoclave conditions. Bottles are pre-sterilized by gamma irradiation. Leave adequate headspace when filling for freezer storage — liquids expand on freezing.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between PET and PETG?
Both PET and PETG are clear, chemically resistant materials suitable for biological and chemical storage. The key difference is temperature performance — PET is rated to -40°C and is suitable for standard refrigerator and -20°C to -40°C freezer storage. PETG is an enhanced formulation rated to -70°C, making it suitable for ultra-low temperature freezer storage where standard PET would become brittle and risk cracking. Choose PETG if your storage application involves -80°C freezers or extended ultra-low temperature storage.
Why are these bottles square instead of round?
The square footprint maximizes storage efficiency — square bottles fit together without wasted space, accommodating significantly more bottles per shelf, refrigerator rack, or freezer box compared to round equivalents. The flat sides also prevent rolling on the bench and allow stable stacking, reducing the risk of spillage during storage and handling.
What solutions can I store in these bottles?
These bottles are designed for long-term storage of aqueous solutions including serum, cell culture media, pancreatic enzymes, reagents, buffers, and other biological and chemical substances. Both PET and PETG offer good chemical resistance to a wide range of aqueous solutions. For specific chemical compatibility with solvents or highly concentrated reagents, verify compatibility with the material before use.
How much headspace should I leave when filling for freezer storage?
Leave at least 10–15% headspace when filling bottles for freezer storage to accommodate the expansion of liquid during freezing. Overfilling can cause cap failure, bottle deformation, or cracking — especially in repeated freeze-thaw cycles. For maximum protection during ultra-low temperature storage in PETG bottles, a 15–20% headspace is recommended.
Are Certificates of Analysis available?
Yes — Certificates of Analysis (COA) are available upon request for all square media bottles. Each lot is tested and certified RNase-, DNase-, Human DNA-, ATP-, and Pyrogen-free, manufactured under ISO 13485, and meets USP Class VI biocompatibility requirements.
