Product Description

Multi-well cell culture plates for adherent and suspension culture applications across a range of throughputs and experimental scales. Available in 6, 12, 24, 48, and 96-well formats, each plate features an optically clear, flat bottom for direct inverted microscope observation and excellent transparency throughout the well field.

Alphanumeric well identification on every plate allows precise location and tracking of individual wells across time points, treatments, and replicate experiments β€” reducing errors in data recording and sample management. The vented cover supports passive gas exchange in COβ‚‚ incubators without compromising sterility. Each plate is designed with an ergonomic outer profile that allows secure, stable handling while wearing standard lab gloves.

Available in TC-Treated and Suspension surface configurations:

TC-Treated
Adherent Cell Culture
"The Welcome Mat"
Hydrophilic surface promotes cell attachment and spreading for healthy monolayer formation in each well. Ideal for adherent cell lines, primary cells, and standard tissue culture assays.
Suspension
Non-Adherent Cell Culture
"The Non-Stick Surface"
Smooth, non-treated well surface remains deliberately inert β€” keeping suspension cells freely floating without unwanted attachment. Ideal for suspension cultures, spheroid formation, and non-adherent cell lines.

Key Features & Benefits
  • Five well formats β€” 6, 12, 24, 48, and 96-well configurations to match culture scale from large-volume transfections to high-throughput compound screening
  • Excellent optical transparency β€” high-clarity polystyrene construction provides distortion-free imaging across the entire well field for inverted microscope observation
  • Flat well bottom β€” uniform flat base ensures consistent cell distribution and reliable imaging without optical distortion
  • Alphanumeric well identification β€” clearly marked row and column designations on every plate for precise well location, data recording, and sample tracking across experiments
  • Vented cover β€” lid design allows passive COβ‚‚ and gas exchange in incubator culture without compromising sterility or requiring lid removal
  • Ergonomic handling design β€” outer plate profile designed for secure, stable gripping with standard lab gloves to reduce drop risk during transfer and media exchange
  • TC-Treated surface β€” hydrophilic treatment promotes cell attachment and monolayer formation for adherent cell lines and primary cells
  • Suspension surface β€” non-treated well interior prevents unwanted cell attachment for suspension cultures and spheroid formation
  • DNase/RNase, Human DNA, ATP, and Pyrogen-free β€” certified for sensitive cell culture and assay applications
  • Sterile, individually packaged β€” sterility maintained until point of use
⚠️ Single-use only β€” not autoclavable. Do not attempt to re-sterilize or reuse. Reuse may compromise sterility and well surface treatment integrity.

Storage & Handling
  • Store in original sealed packaging in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and UV exposure
  • Maintain storage temperature between 15Β°C and 30Β°C (59Β°F – 86Β°F)
  • Keep away from excessive humidity
  • Do not use plates from damaged or previously opened packaging
  • Handle with gloves using standard aseptic technique inside a biosafety cabinet
  • Use the ergonomic outer profile to maintain a secure grip during transfer and media exchange
  • Inspect packaging integrity before opening β€” do not use if seal is compromised
  • Single-use only β€” do not reuse between passages or experiments
  • Dispose of used plates in accordance with your institution's biosafety waste disposal guidelines
⚠️ Not autoclavable β€” the polystyrene material will deform under autoclave conditions and autoclaving will compromise the surface treatment. Plates are pre-sterilized by gamma irradiation and certified contaminant-free from the factory.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right well format for my experiment?
Format selection depends on the number of conditions, replicates, and the volume of reagents required. The 6-well plate is best for large-volume culture, transfections, and applications requiring significant cell mass. The 12 and 24-well formats suit mid-scale parallel experiments and drug treatment studies. The 48 and 96-well formats are designed for higher throughput screening, compound titrations, and assays requiring many simultaneous conditions with smaller reagent volumes.
What does alphanumeric well identification mean?
Each well on the plate is labeled with a row letter (A, B, C...) and a column number (1, 2, 3...) printed directly on the plate β€” for example, A1, B3, or H12 on a 96-well plate. This allows precise identification and recording of individual wells across time points, treatments, and plate reads without the need for additional labeling, reducing transcription errors in data recording.
What is the difference between TC-Treated and Suspension plates?
TC-Treated plates have a hydrophilic well surface that promotes cell attachment and spreading β€” ideal for adherent cell lines, primary cells, and monolayer-based assays. Suspension plates have a smooth, non-treated well surface that prevents unwanted cell attachment β€” suitable for suspension cultures, spheroid and organoid formation, and any application where cells should remain unattached.
Can I image cells directly in the plate?
Yes. The flat well bottom and excellent optical transparency of the polystyrene construction allow direct inverted microscope observation without transferring cells to a separate vessel. The high-clarity material provides distortion-free imaging suitable for routine morphology assessment, cell counting, and fluorescence-based assays.
Can these plates be autoclaved or reused?
No. These plates are single-use only and must not be autoclaved or reused. The polystyrene material will deform under autoclave conditions and re-sterilization will compromise the well surface treatment. Each plate is gamma-irradiated and individually packaged to ensure sterility at point of use.
Are Certificates of Analysis available?
Yes β€” Certificates of Analysis (COA) are available upon request for all cell culture plates. Each lot is tested and certified RNase-, DNase-, Human DNA-, ATP-, and Pyrogen-free, manufactured under ISO 13485, and meets USP Class VI biocompatibility requirements.
