Fibroblast Growth Medium System
Fibroblast Growth Medium is a low-serum medium optimized for the in vitro cultivation of neonatal and juvenile fibroblasts. It is optimized for primary human cells and also supports bovine, porcine, and rat fibroblasts, as well as fibroblast cell lines.
Recommended For: Normal Human Dermal Fibroblasts (NHDF), juvenile foreskin, and primary human fibroblasts from other tissues.
Composition: The Basal Medium contains essential and non-essential amino acids, vitamins, organic and inorganic compounds, trace minerals, and 0.5% fetal bovine serum (FBS). The supplements, which add the hormones and growth factors, are serum-free. No antibiotics or antimycotics are included.
How the system works
Complete medium is always one 500 mL bottle of Basal Medium plus one set of supplements. The supplements come in two formats, and both make the same final medium:
- SupplementMix: all supplements premixed in one vial. Thaw, add, done. Included in the ready-to-use Growth Medium (KM-FBGM-1).
- SupplementPack: each supplement in its own pre-measured vial, so you can leave out or adjust an individual component. Included in the Kit (KM-FBGK-1) and sold separately (KM-FBGS-1).
Need a phenol red-free medium for imaging or colorimetric assays? Combine the phenol red-free Basal Medium (KM-FBGP-1) with a SupplementPack (KM-FBGS-1).
