Product Description

Hank's Balanced Salt Solution (HBSS) is a physiological buffer used for washing cells, transporting cells or tissue samples, diluting cells for counting, and preparing reagents. This calcium-free, magnesium-free, phenol red-free formulation is intended for rinsing chelators from culture before enzymatic dissociation, since residual calcium and magnesium can inhibit trypsin and EDTA.

Recommended Use: Pre-dissociation rinse buffer and general-purpose wash solution.

No. KM-HBSS-1 is calcium-free and magnesium-free, which is why it's suited for rinsing before trypsin/EDTA dissociation.
Does it contain phenol red?
No. This formulation is phenol red-free, so it won't interfere with imaging or absorbance-based assays.
Do I need to refrigerate it?
No. It's stable at room temperature (15°C to 30°C). Refrigerating at 2°C to 8°C is also fine and won't affect quality.
