DPBS Product Description
Dulbecco's Phosphate Buffered Saline (DPBS) is a sterile, ready-to-use 1X balanced salt solution for washing, rinsing, and diluting cells, and for transporting cells or tissue samples. It holds cells at physiological pH and osmolality during handling steps outside of growth medium.
DPBS without calcium and magnesium (KM-DPBS-1): for rinsing cells before trypsin or EDTA. Removing calcium, magnesium, and residual serum lets cells release from the surface and from each other, and keeps serum trypsin inhibitors from slowing dissociation.
DPBS with calcium and magnesium (KM-DPBS-2): for washes where cells should stay attached and keep their junctions intact, such as rinses between steps or before imaging.
